Girls Powerlifting: GHS finished 3rd overall in the 15-team field at the West Invitational. The Hornets claimed three gold medals: Bayelyn Roberts (540 lbs.), Shaylie Teague (830) and Emma Davidson (915). Other medalists: 3rd place – Kasey Fitzer; 4th – Zoey Arnold and Alyssa Saxon. Next up will be the THSWPA regional meet March 1 in Dublin for any lifter ranked in the Top 10 of their respective weight class. Those rankings will be released early this week.
Boys Powerlifting: GHS finished 5th in the 15-team West Invitational. The Hornets copped two gold medals: L.J. Hall (1,415 lbs.) and Zach Bryant (1,670). Other medalists: 2nd place – Caden Brister; 5th – Corey Burns, Ray Jones, Aiden Pankow and David Sims. Lifters that rank in the Top 10 of their respective weight class will qualify for the THSPA regional meet, which will be held March 9 at Gatesville High School. Those rankings will be released early this week.
